The Confirmation Bias Issue

There's an awareness that you have to treat your theories a bit gingerly in the beginning. Thomas Chamberlain was one of the first modern thinkers to put his finger on what we're doing wrong with problem solving. The antidote he came up with and which has since been a principle in scientific investigation is called multiple working hypothesis. Whenever you run into something, a problem or phenomenon you want to explain, try to come up with multiple different ways of looking at it before you go too far in the process.
