The Valley of Jehoshaphat - The Name of the Davidic, King of Judah
The name jehoshaphat clearly recalls the name of the davidic, king of judah. The valley in question was some distance from jerusalem, so it's not the valley that is literally in question here. In verse four n the valley is called the valley of decision. And itis likely that we are supposed to understand the valley of je hoshaphat figuratively as recalling both the deliverance in jehoshAPhat's day and also recognizing the meaning of the name jehshaphat away judges.
