The Buttonwood Agreement
In March of 1792, a 22 Wall Street opens with just a couple brokerage houses coming together. The Buttonwood Agreement is one of the most important moments of the American financial era. In fact, they even called themselves the Founding and Subsequent Fathers. There were 24 leading stockbrokers who signed it.
