Hiring an Engineering Partner

We're talking about hiring an engineering partner and maybe the muse partnership model more generally. The role is on our partner track meaning that it has a high level of freedom and responsibility while earning a significant stake in the business. So can you tell us what does it mean to be an engineering partner as opposed to say a software engineer as a regular employee?
