How Tokenization Works?
The downside of encryption is you have to decrypt it to use the information. But if you can do operations over the encrypted data, then you don't have that downside. The more times that door needs to be opened, the less secure it is. A true tokenization solution has a layer of governance on top of it. It has authentication so that you actually prove who you are and it has authorization to prove not only who you are, but that you have a right to access that piece of data.
