A Brief History of the Trials

Nine public murder trials were held over seven months in three locations in london. The trial of anne turner, confidant of francis howard was the first to take place. Anne had been having an affair with one arthur mannering for some years. Francis bacon commented afterwards that such was the interest in the trials that the period felt more like a holiday out in the normal world of london.
