New York had a larger volume of immigrants in the 19th century and it caused a hell of a lot of problems that boston had a lot too but not in any one i don't think it was anywhere near the volume that new york experienced. The bigger thing was they had different types of immigrants so that both made it easier in some ways and more like natural but it also made it harder to figure out what should be done.
