Fire Shelters - It's Like, It'll Protect You From Reflective Heat
i've heard about these fire shelters where it was when i was working at the summer camp, i heard about it. Ah, you basically have to like, dig yourself a grave, right? Like, you have to dig into the ground, and then you lay on it,. And just cover yourself with a blanket and wait, is that right? Yend. Essentially, it's, it'll protect from like, reflective heat. But iflike, a bush is on fire next to you, it's just going to burn you regardless. So this army, people have survived fires with fire shelters, like it steltningly save people's lives.
In today's episode of Backpacker Radio, we are joined by Jack Jones better known on trail as Quadzilla. Quadzilla has packed a lot of life into his time on this earth- he is a bonafide renaissance man with a great outlook on life. We chat about his time in the army, running a CrossFit gym in his late 20s, serving as a wildland firefighter, participating in several multi-day meditation retreats, backpacking thousands of miles including the triple crown, we touch on his bikepacking, and Chaunce and I lather him with an uncomfortable amount of praise on those giant, beautiful quads.
