The Importance of Protecting Marine Ecosystems

Icebergs scour huge forests of seaweed, and you have all these broken pieces that we are looking at now on icebergs. This is called seaweed detritus, a bit like leaf litter in a forest,. And it's amazing when you look at them, when you go underwater, there's a whole community of invertebrates. For one plant, you could have, for example, 5,000 in-verspirate individuals. If we want to better protect areas, we need to understand if glaciers are to retreat, would there be a colonisation of seaweed?
