The Failure of the American Revolution

There were these networks of power by patronage and clientage, you know, they were familiarly oriented. And so that's why you have different nations jockeying around. Same thing with the American Revolution. We think of it as a purely succession between, you know,. the colonies and the British., but it's not. It fails without munitions and training and soldiers and naval support from France. The fight is triangulation, and of me of my enemy is my friend. You can point to all sorts of issues where this isn't consistent.
