"This is a sequel to the comic book. We don't find out enough about a lot of these characters," says Damon Lindelof. "We have to reference the comic book to figure it out." The show takes Dr. Manhattan from being this completely detached monster living weapon, he's like justthis really caring guy who suddenly likes women who are of age for the show instead of in the comic books.
