The Relationship Between the White House and the Justice Department

John Avlon: How has this relationship worked in the past? How did it work in the Bush administration? When I was in Justice, of course, I was trying to keep the White House away from us and what I was at the White House. He says there are supposed to be these strict rules but exceptions can be made for national security matters. Avlon: One problem is that there just does not seem to have been a lot of education inside this White House on the importance of this wall of independence.
