Rips Fractures Should Scare You in Older Patients
If it's three in the morning and you're at a center that doesn't have 24 hours CT, you need to get that patient lined up for a CT of their chest and their abdomen ASAP. Just give me a call as the trauma team leader. You know, just because every call doesn't result in a transfer doesn't mean you shouldn't make the call. It would be wrong for us to pretend that every patient with a rips fracture will get accepted.
