If it were me, I'd just be like, do I even want to work with this person anymore? And the answer would be no. So you don't need to sit there and justify every single little tiny thing. A lot of that just comes from fear. You don't want this person to think that you are trying to rip them off. It's bad because everything is resource attraction and maintaining as much resource as possible so that you have a better chance of survival.
