i like the idea that our politics should be centered around the sensibility of, you know, a well off, white mail suburbanite whose sole worry is will we have people get to them in time? That'sk the most basic thing that you want to make sure is happening. And i've often thought that, if it weren't for the people who actually get hit done,. many of whom who are public ants, teachers, fire fighters, cops. Many of whom can't be explicitly political because their jobs prevent them from being political but they actually keep a lot of stuff just going.
