The History of Nanuwa

The so-called Taika reforms of 645 CE were a coup d'etat against the Empress Kogoku. The plotters wanted to reform the existing structure of Imperial rule into something more akin to what they saw as the greatest power on Earth, Imperial China. Nanuwa would become the actual capital at least for a time after one of the major turning points in early Japanese history.
