When we look at hype nutremia, we could break i into three categories. So let's start with the hypos. This is low blood vol so low body fluid volume relative to a high sodium. Does that make sense? What this would suggest is you've lost both water and so dium, but you've lost more water than sodium relative to it. Es tit make sense? Now, the way that this could be looked at is that it could be from a renal cause. So you've just ped out a whole lot, or it's a non renal cause. K, because you're losing more fluid, more water a, you're going to become hypernutremic
In this BIG episode, Dr Matt & Dr Mike discuss electrolytes and ions! They explain what important roles substances like sodium (Na+), Potassium (K+), Chloride (Cl-), Calcium (Ca2+), and Magnesium (Mg2+) play in the body! What happens when we have too much or too little??
