The Names of the Anglo-Saxons
Anglus Saxon king names reflect their Germanic language. Many of these names were simply combinations of a small handful of Anglus Saxon root words. Names like Ethel Frith, Redwald, Aasui, Ethelbald, Ethelwolf and Ethelred have survived into modern English.
