Nadine Dorries, Alissa Jack, Alok Sharma and Nigel Adams are all Johnson loyalists. They would have to give up their seats to enter the Lords but want to defer that. There is no constitutional precedent for a sitting MP deferring their peerage. All eyes are on how Rishi Sunak will respond to the situation. And we've already had one sort of parting list from Boris Johnson. He appointed 30 new Conservative peers just last month in that delayed list. This is a separate resignation on his list. So it will be quite an unprecedented situation.
