I sometimes prioritize finishing a song over saving an existing song that hadn't been recorded. A lot of the way i make music is file ment, which sounds so unromantic but it's just, like, i have ableton projects ecause i've had it since i was 15. And then between having all the projects, and i try and bounce a master file, stereo bounce, of every project that i use. Even if it sucks, i just bounce it.
