Introduction
The RMS Titanic was the largest movable object in history. Its state of the art technology had seen it heralded as practically unsinkable. On that fateful night in April 1912, sink it did. Just four days into its inaugural voyage to New York, a glancing blow from an iceberg was enough to scuttle the pristine new vessel. But how could the famously unsinkable ship ultimately turn out to be so vulnerable? Who on board bore responsibility for its passengers' tragic fates? And why, over 100 years later, does this horrific maritime disaster still hold such a powerful grip on our imaginations?
