Franz de Toye was sent to the army by his parents. He hated authority and spent most of his short military stint in the detention barracks, before being let go at the first possible opportunity. After being discharged from the army, Franz's parents found him a job at a mine in the city of Welcom,. And for the next few years, Franz de Toye seemed to settle down. But this period of tranquility was not to last. Shortly after his daughter was born, Franz left his wife, saying that she was unable to satisfy him sexually.
