I was talking about my politics and I was just trying to lay down a foundation by saying, I begin as an economist in the tradition of liberalism. And all men being equal is a statement about the intrinsic worth of people not about the situation that will come about when people interact with each other through markets. The ideal of the market collides with the ideal of all men are created equal. Do they collide and where do they collide? Well, markets are going to produce inequality.
