Lord Buckley's Last Phone Call
Buckley died on November 12, 1963. Rumors swirled that he was killed by black Muslims or a counterfeiter. He would have found the rumors amusing because for one, there was talk that it wasn't illness, but instead black Muslims did him in. Ken Kesey summed up the counterculture of America and Lord Buckley's place in it: "Lord Buckley is a secret thing"
