Mark Matzen is the author of The Intrament and Fasting Revolution. He says fasting for 18 hours has been shown to have positive effects on lifespan in a wide range of chronic disorders. A recent study found no difference between time-restrict eating and daily calorie restriction, he says. But that study was underpowered because it only looked at 100 patients with weight loss increases of 2.5 kilos or about 6 pounds.
