How to Use the P-Carn Rule to Increase Ct Utilization
The p-carn rule is kind of like a d-dimer for pulmonary embolism in adults. Initially when the well score came out for d-dimer it actually increased the use and then increased the ct rate. The catch-to rule would be more applicable to kids who aren't really sick but you're probably not going to be doing a scan on anyway. It still comes down to physician decision plus or minus shared decision making with the family.
