Well, I think it's, it's one of the things that I had in my list was, you know, this transition point can be a point to say, I'm going to step to a job that's less taxing, less demanding. And so it does make some money, but it's also helping me figure out how I turn into a spender rather than a saver. And it's kind of like training wheels a little bit for retirement. That's right. Yeah. I

think you wrapped it up. Well, clearly you and I are going to continue to talk about this as you approach that milestone and as you move past it, you know, it's something we're going to want to continue coming back to because it's essential. Right. It's essential.
Speaker 2
Well, and you pointed out too, not to derail what you were about to say, but you pointed out too that you know Things change so changing priorities. I mean that can be a reason to to take on another job too or continue something You know like what if you want another house? What if you want a fifth wheel? What if you want a cabin? I don't know
Speaker 1
something outside your budget. Yeah, exactly. You gotta do something different. It shouldn't be, I'm gonna take on more risk. It should be, okay, there's another way to get there. Yeah.

request. Jason and I love making this show and sharing our conversations, but we need your help spreading the word. The best way to do that is to give us a quick rating and review on your podcast app of choice. And if you know someone on the five path, please hit that share button on your favorite episode. Every little bit helps. Thanks. But I think

that fits with our next item and that is increased giving, right? Many people have some aspect of giving in the fire community as part of their budget. Yeah. But let's say you want to do something else. You want to leave a legacy to a family member, to a school or an organization you care about, or you want to, you know, relieve the debts of somebody else you know. That's a, it's hard to argue against that being a good reason to use some skills you have to earn some more money. That sounds pretty good because a lot of us have, maybe we're giving something now regularly, but then our hope is at end of life we'll have a bolus that we've allocated already or we hope to allocate to a future but we'd like a little more certainty on that and doing something now to ensure that maybe setting up a donor advice fund or whatever you want to do, well hard to argue that's not a good use of your ability to earn.
