The U.S. is moving in the direction of reintroducing gold into its monetary system, says Peter Bergen. The process by which they would actually have to build the infrastructure to make that happen will take time and money, he adds. If it happens, though, it's going to look a whole awful lot like the vaults over the LBMA or the comics.
