Cheryl Lee Ralph plays Rita Lauren Hill character's mother and she was in dream girls and won a Tony for it. So when Shirley Ralph won her Emmy last year and she sang her acceptance speech so in sister act two she doesn't want her daughter to sing. I love how that's like continuing the tradition of having the parent who's like against singing and dancing in the movie being like a Broadway legend.
