Social Security Is Not Going to Pay You a Penny
The notion that you can't put aside a few percentage points of your income to create that cushion I think that's probably a mistake. Americans are curiously pessimistic about social security even people who are just a few years from starting to collect social security because they're older. The rate at which people die in the United States before the age of 60 is pretty low so you have a very good chance of making it to 60 year beyond. If you were talking to a 20 year old what would be the pep talk you'd give them?
