The Lake Island of Inish Free by Jeremy Vine

The Lake Island of Inish Free is the world's best-loved poem of exile. It was written by Irish poet John Yates, who grew up in Bedford Park and wrote a novel about an exiled young man from west Ireland. Jeremy Vine walked past the island every day on his way to work at The London School of Economics. He said: "I hadn't realised that this incredible man, this god of poetry, was basically walking down my local high street"
