There's a lot of overlap here in the sense that, yeah, that is a classic example of how atheism is similar to Protestantism. And an atheist will say God has to be this way, but we look at the way the world is. Therefore, God isn't that way or he doesn't exist. This is a doctrine that we actually have empirical evidence against because we go back to the Westminster confession of faith. It claims all things in scripture are not alike plain, but the things that are necessary to be known, believe and observe or salvation are clearly propounded in some place of scripture or the other.
