The AFDC limits the amount of time people can get cash welfare under the aid to families with dependent children act. The real thing that sucked about this is that eligibility for Medicaid is tied to eligibility for the AFDC which far less people were now eligible for. Obamacare among the many promises of Obama's 2008 election campaign was a thorough reform of US healthcare.
