What's Going on in the Kaiwa Languages?

I don't think the Kaiwa languages have grammatical gender as we normally understand the term. They're usually called classes, which may have our use of that word might have pointed him off in a different way. It's like in Latin, you'll talk about your class, class two, class three, class four berms. That's not gender. That describes what pattern of conjugation they take. But it is an interesting sort of grammatical number thing. So those are really interesting, but I don't think that what's going on there is actually gender.
