The First Minister's Been Telling the SNP and the Independence Movement Every Six Months, the Independence Is Just Around the Corner

It's been clear for quite some time that the first minister was closer to the end of her leadership than the beginning. The days when she was seen as a welcome breath of fresh air after Alex Sammons and the divisions of the 2014 Independence referendum, those days were long in the past. It does leave the SNP and the independence movement leaderless, rudderless at a time when, you know, notionally it's on the verge of another great leap forwards.
