A Preliminary Look at the Matter From the Faith Perspective
In 1978, the then congregation for the doctrine of the faith issued a document to give Bishop's guidance into discerning private revelations and whether they're genuinely from God. The positive criteria that would lend support to the idea that a reported revelation was from God were a moral certitude or at least great probability of the existence of the event acquired by means of a serious investigation. We discussed this document in depth in episode 84 on private revelations, so listeners can go back and review that for a detailed discussion.
