The biggest danger for an experienced negotiator is to drop the tactics I plan because some emotion kicks in. People have a strong reaction to anything they perceive as being treated with a lack of respect. Anger puts blood into my arms but out of my hands so that I can easily strangle my counterpart. That's what my body is preparing while I was actually intending to just deliver my numbers.
