The Patellofemoral Pain Guidelines
Patellofemoral Pain is characterized by pain either behind or around your patella. In order to make that diagnosis, there does need to be some positive findings on imaging. Imaging is not very helpful whatsoever when it comes to diagnosing this condition. It can be helpful for excluding other things like an osteosarcoma. So I think globally for physical therapy as a profession, we've had a tendency to kind of tag this term syndrome onto a lot of different things.
