I like to schedule language sessions and then I paid for them. So I have no choice but to do it. Otherwise, I'm throwing my money away. And that works for any sort of thing where you would naturally want to escape is kind of build in some consequences that are more painful than actually doing what you don't want to do. As long as you don't have a ton of work to do, then being immersed in the culture is really beneficial. It was for me at least just having to talk to people at restaurants and things like that.
