" peer review is broken. It's broken primarily in the fact that you're not going to fund me to just duplicate someone else's research," Tyson said. "If half of the research that the public is funneling into their own conduct and politicians are grabbing onto, if half of that would ultimately shown to be false...that's the real problem."
