The Importance of Common Sensitivity

When you look at hunter-gatherer cultures, it's around age four in those cultures that the adults begin to say that children have common sense. They've now got enough sense that they're not going to do something really, really stupid. It's also no coincidence that the kind of school that my son went to and where he's a staff member now is called Sudbury Valley School. None of those schools will accept anybody under age four.
