Growing up in a more uncertain financial environment carries all the way through to adult hood. People who outsorce too much experience the lowest levels of happiness, probably because they feel like their life must be so out of control. We want to seem self sufficient and don't ask for help enough - even when we're paying our hard earned money for someone else's time. In north american culture, we have this idea that we're a fail r if somehow we can't have their perfect home life and be the most successful at work.
