The Importance of Income in House Prices
Price of buildings on the canals in Amsterdam doesn't really move a lot. And we see exactly the same in the rent. So it seems that the risk premium inherent in the discount rate goes up and down far too much far more than is justified by volatility in the income. The intrinsic value of the property will always be grounded to people's income.
