How to Succeed as an Animator
When I first started, you know, I struggled with drawing. But then there was a show project that I directed on my own while I was at Disney after hours. It was a video for Paula Duol, the MC Skat Cat video. And I animated a fair chunk of those shots myself and I asked all my animation buddies to animate a shot. That was the first one when I just started because there was no model sheet or anybody else that cribbed from.I stopped worrying about model and go, oh, is this a funny squash drawing on the character's face or why can't I make the hand this big dragging it across the screen?"
