What Is Big Data?
DiPak is a member of our new expert committee on ethics and artificial intelligence which advises us on issues related to avoiding harm in AI. Let's start off by asking what exactly is data? Keiran: I think that we probably need to treat it as having two definitions really. There's a formal definition which was originally I think coined by IBM but I may be wrong in attributing them to it. And then just finally let's not forget data that is not classically health but health impacting like pollution data, transport data,. All of that today could be considered health data.
