The Power of Self Study
Sometimes students can take good tests, but they cannot have a conversation. Because you're not practicing it. How could you? I taught in Japan and some of the English teachers there who'd been teaching English for decades were better at explaining grammar than me. But what broke my heart is they would often blame themselves because they hadn't practiced speaking. So anyway, I'm glad that you managed to have that experience that spurred on your passion and then led to that self study where much of the magic really happens.
