Jane Austen's Fiction - Is There a Complication?

One of the subtleties of her fiction is that what you and I might call the bad people in her novels, think they're good too. There's no cardboard villains. No. But she quotes Scripture more frequently than anybody in the novel; we find out that she thinks of herself as a virtuous person.
