George Cukor's Gaslight
George Cukor's 1944 American psychological thriller film Gaslight is adapted from the 1938 play by Patrick Hamilton. It follows a young woman whose husband slowly manipulates her into believing that she's going crazy. After the famous opera singer Alice Alquist is murdered at her London home, her niece Paula is sent to Italy to follow in the deceased star's footsteps.
