Is There a Difference Between Stable and Intermittent Inflation?
There is a difference of opinion within the RBI of how much per meeting and how far this rate type cycle will go. For me, it's not the headline number that's so worrying. The fact that core inflation momentum is running at six percent or above makes me a little bit concerned. We're about six to seven percent below our pre-pandemic part. Many emerging markets have below their pre-panda part. And the fact that the Fed will have to keep hiking, we think, deep into the summer will make it harder for emerging market central banks to look the other way.
