There's this weird thing that happens in like detective PI type movies where the girl's been missing for a while and then the person will always magically find the key piece of evidence. The first scene when he's reading anal secretary, but it turns out to be Truman Capote. Next one rewatchable is Nick Cage calling Eddie Gandolfini out when he's spying on him. When they figure out it's the same girl, they're both like, Oh, yeah, you did it.
